Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Joel Williams serves as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs for the Arnold School of Public Health, with a faculty appointment in the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior. His academic training spans exercise science and public health, complemented by clinical experience in sports medicine and hospital settings. His expertise is in the implementation and evaluation of health promotion and disease prevention programs and interventions. His work has focused particularly on health behavior measurement, obesity prevention and control in community and clinical settings, and the use of mobile technologies to promote chronic disease self-management.
