Background

Jamie Strassman is an assistant professor of management whose research focuses on women's relationships with one another at work. She asks and answers questions such as, “Which contextual features prevent versus promote woman-to-woman connections at work?” “What are the unique benefits, or costs associated with varying forms of professional woman-to-woman relationships?” 

She also examines the complex, and frequently beneficial, effects of ambivalence (i.e., internal conflict) on work-related outcomes. Strassman earned her Ph.D. in the Rosenthal Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Before studying at McCombs, she was a management consulting associate at Guidehouse. Strassman attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a B.S. in business administration and a B.A. in economics. Outside of work, she enjoys creative writing, reading and getting out on the water in any way, shape or form with her friends and sweet pup.
