Bio
| Background: | Ryan Hakimi, DO, MS, NVS, RPNI, CPB, FNCS, FCCM, FAAN, FASN, is a neurologist and neurointensivist who serves as Neurology Service Line Medical Director at Self Regional Neurology, System Stroke Medical Director for Self Regional Healthcare, and Medical Director of Self Regional Healthcare TCD Services. He is Professor in the Department of Medicine, Neurology Division, at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Greenville. Previously, he was Medical Director of the Greenville Memorial Hospital Neuro ICU and TCD Services at Prisma Health-Upstate and founding Medical Director of the OU Medical Center Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit. He completed his osteopathic medical degree at Michigan State University, his internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Michigan State University-Beaumont Health, and a fellowship in neurocritical care and stroke at Duke University Medical Center. His clinical and scholarly interests include neurocritical care, neuroimaging, transcranial Doppler ultrasound, intracranial hemorrhage, status epilepticus, and therapeutic hypothermia. He is board certified in neurology, neurocritical care, neurosonology (RPNI), and as a Neurovascular Specialist, and he is a Certified Professional Biller. He serves as President of the American Society of Neuroimaging, a board member of the Neurocritical Care Society and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Vascular Testing Board, Vice Chair of the American Academy of Neurology Neuroimaging Section, and Treasurer of the South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society. |
